The Farm Animals Post

Luckily for us, Michaela couldn't spend the summer in Middletown without her chickens. So now six pretty hens are happily vacationing at Long Lane Farm.

And over at Tiffany Farms in Lyme where we got some quality compost, we happened upon the cutest baby cows.
Sophie got a little hands on.

We love Tom Christopher

We love it when Tom comes to till. Now we have beautiful soil to plant in. and play in!

We are Architects

Andrew led the way in building a pretty phenomenal tomato trellis. Only problem: it may not cover our 370 tomato plants...

Looks pretty snazzy though

Bees, Birds, and Boys

A little while back, Maxwell's brothers came to visit. His parents came too. They wanted to see our agrarian experiment. We tromped around the garden, hunted for the woodchuck, and checked out the chickens in their new, grassy, home. They seem to be liking it, what with all the green and milkweed to take shade under. Rem went into the coop and scooped up a bird, natch.

The bees are buzzing along too. Pretty soon they'll be pollenating the zucchini and the squash. Adventures to come! Next stop, more tomatoes than we can even imagine. Onward and upward go the farmers of long lane!
